Brown Pelicans Need Your Voice

Help Pass a Strong Oil Spill Response Bill

Dear Friend,

The brown pelican is the bird species hit hardest by the oil spill, comprising 58% of all dead or injured birds collected to date.

This week, an oil spill response bill is expected to be introduced in the U.S Congress that will help address the causes and impacts of environmentally devastating events like the BP oil spill.

Please ask your members of Congress to support a strong oil spill response bill today.

Just a few days ago, the U.S. Senate announced that it will continue to stall on passing comprehensive climate and clean energy legislation.

Alert your friends

In the wake of one of the worst environmental disasters of our time, we are outraged at the Senate's continued inaction on climate and clean energy. Yet, despite the Senate's inaction, we must do what we can now to address the devastating impacts that Big Polluters are already having on our wildlife.

Urge your members of Congress to vote 'yes' on the oil spill response bill.

A strong oil spill response bill will raise the liability and accountability of oil companies for spills, in addition to increasing the safety of drilling on- and offshore.

A strong bill would also include provisions to restore the cherished wetlands of the Mississippi Delta and fully fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), which would help protect hundreds of thousands of acres of wildlife habitat.

It is critical that Congress acts now to hold polluters accountable and secure critical funding for land, water and wildlife conservation--please send this message today.

Sincerely,
